PRIDE of Ticonderoga is proud of the role it has played in the recent efforts to enhance and beautify the walking trail that follows the LaChute River through Ticonderoga.  The LaChute River known as Ticonderoga Creek prior to 1933, is an important symbol and reminder of the historical significance of the Ticonderoga area.  For over 250 years, the LaChute River was harnessed for industrial power and is the connecting thread between Lake George and Lake Champlain.  The LaChute River played a significant role in the founding and discovery of early American civilization.  As a critical waypoint for travelers, the LaChute River had a considerable impact on the founding of the Town of Ticonderoga and was, for nearly a century, the livelihood of area industry. 

Today, the LaChute River remains a rich reminder of the depths of local history.  PRIDE of Ticonderoga in partnership with the Town of Ticonderoga has created a walking trail along the LaChute River that highlights the history of the River and presents a more complete picture to residents and visitors about the importance and beauty of the rich heritage of the LaChute.
